What is a Graduate School?

Over the past few years, the term 'Graduate School' has become increasingly popular in higher education, particularly with the emergence of research-intensive university schools (EUR) modeled after the Anglo-Saxon excellence centers. These schools integrate Master's and PhD programs within research laboratories. Their goal is to bridge the gap between master's and PhD programs through research-based training.

The Graduate School Graduate Programs – Doctoral Studies

In 2019, Gustave-Eiffel University won the SFRI call for projects from the National Research Agency (ANR) under the France 2030 plan. The SFRI project involves the launch of four graduate programs integrated into the Graduate School, which ensures the alignment of strategic goals, dialogue, and resource allocation. Three graduate programs are built on existing LabEx partnerships, while the fourth program is based on the ISITE Future initiative, specifically the Tremplin Recherche exploratory device, which aims to develop research among engineers at ESISEE-Paris:

  • Graduate Program Bézout – Mathematics and Computer Science (GP Bézout, supported until December 2024 by LabEx Bézout)
  • Graduate Program Digital and Innovations Studies for Smart Cities (GP DIGIS, supported until December 2024 by LabEx SITES)
  • Graduate Program Urban Future (GP FU, supported until December 2024 by LabEx Urban Futures)
  • Graduate Program Connected Objects, Devices and Systems (GP CODS, initially supported by the Tremplin Recherche exploratory device)
