GP Urban Future
Introduction to the GP Urban Future
The GP Urban Future offers a research-based training program on the transdisciplinary theme of sustainable cities . Its specificity is to combine the practices and results of human and social sciences with those of technical sciences to cover the broad range of scientific disciplines interested in the future of cities. Its modules teach students the methods of producing and disseminating knowledge from these two disciplinary approaches to provide them with the scientific background necessary for building the urban planning of tomorrow.
Training Devices
The GP UF awards around ten research scholarships each year, validated by a committee composed of representatives from the training programs and laboratory directors. These scholarships allow students to free up time to devote to their research and prepare their doctoral project.
Obtaining a scholarship allows students to enter the GP's training program, which consists of a semester-long seminar on current research, also open to PhD students. Additionally, several master's-student-PhD-student meetings are organized to discuss the concrete conditions of research practices, evoke the constraints, and discuss the expectations of the doctoral research project.
The program also funds research workshops , proposed by researchers from associated laboratories, which constitute a research internship for accepted students.
How to Apply
Two scholarship campaigns take place each year, in September and January. Seminars and master's-student-PhD-student meetings can also be attended as a free auditor. To do so, you must register with the seminar organizers.
